Rachel Steffen winner of Lövsta Future Challenge International jumping class

It was nineteen riders who entered the olympic Stadion arena for Lövsta Future Challenge International first jumping class on thursday afternoon.

The Belgium riders dominated the jumping class, Rachel Steffen was first out of the two Belgium riders and she did a fast round and took the lead with Lövsta Stuteris 14-year-old stallion Uncanto di Villagana. The Swedish rider Stella Röhlcke and Lövsta Stuteris mare Delina almost beat Rachels fast round but didn’t reached all the way and was second placed a long time until the last rider for the class, Leoni Peeters, just passed Stella with her mare Belanda.

-”I’m very greatful to ride such a nice stallion. Uncanto really did the little extra for me in there today. I’m really happy to get the chance to ride in such a fantastic arena and I’m looking forward to the team competition tomorrow!” said Rachel Steffen after her ride.

The best Swedish rider, Stella Röhlcke, was also happy with her 11-year-old mare Delina performance today.

-”It was a bit nervous and I felt that Delina was impressed about the arena and the atmosphere, she had a bit of extra nerve in there today. It was a good warm-up for tomorrows class which I’m looking forward to ride together with Sissela!”

The other Swedish rider, Sissela Smith and her Cartier CC did a nice round but unfortunately ended up with one time penalty and on tenth place.

Next time the U25 riders will enter the arena again is tomorrow, Friday night, for the team competition. The teams compete in pairs of two and the starting order for the team competition will be decided during Lövsta Future Challenge welcome party tonight.
