Lövsta Future Challenge

Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida winner of LFC International jumping

He got his place in the competition Thursday last week as a reserve, thanks to a swiss rider who couldn’t come to Gothenburg. And today he won the first round in Lövsta Future Challenge International Jumping in Ullevi arena. Portuguese rider Rodrigo Giesteira Almeida got a flying start of his weekend.

Together with his horse Hassan van de Wittemoere, a ten year old gelding, he did a super first round and rode really fast in the second round. Not one of the following riders could beat him. Danish rider Martin Dinesen Neergaard with Eurvette O was placed second and in third place Britain’s Tim Wilkes on Quelbora Merze.
– I’m really happy and this is a fantastic show. My horse was amazing and the round went just as I planned, said Rodrigo during the prize giving ceremony.

Sweden’s Karin Martinsen with her Quantos went first in the competition, did a super round and was placed sixth.

Next time the U25 riders enter the arena again is on Saturday for the team competition. Rodrigo Geisteira Almeida will be competing in Team Europe together with Swiss rider Emilie Stampfli.
